Hello, I'm Jorge! I am a full-stack developer with 10 years of experience in design and development of web applications. I have a B.S. in Computer Science from Neumont College in Salt Lake City, UT.
My professional experience comes from the insurance industry where I worked on an insurance platform that delivers competitive products on the flood market. I helped by designing and developing applications that were able to meet growing demand, served as tools to make adjustments based on market conditions and automated workflows to make processes more efficient and scalable as well as exchanging data with business partners.
My favorite part of the software stack is front-end development. I'm constantly honing my UX/UI skills to deliver user-friendly and maintainable applications.
I live by three things that make me excel at the work I do; 1) Done is better than perfect and helps to deliver features and projects on time every time. 2) Designing is an iterative process so fail fast to get early feedback and get to the desired design faster. 3) There's always room to grow and with tech is no different. I'm always open to learning new things about the business I'm working with or new tech to be better with the work I do.
I am currently looking for new opportunities that make use of my skills in a full-stack or front-end development position. I'm looking forward to learning new practices, frameworks and technologies that help me advance in my software development career and at the same time help businesses reach their customers with applications offering the best user experience.
And before I go, I just want to let you know that almost every software developer has a life outside of tech and for me it's playing tennis, racquetball, hiking, going to the movies, travelling, reading, walking the dogs in the park and playing with my cats.
